PROpt is a national provider for Industrial Physical Capability
Services (IPCS). This company provides standardized and
objective physical capability testing for new hire and injured
employees of all
job type
classifications. IPCS testing will reduce your overexertion
injuries in a safe and feasible manner, simultaneously
improving safety performance, significantly reducing workers'
compensation costs, and making your work environment safer and
more productive. These isokinetic physical capability pre- or
post-job offer evaluations have proven to be effective,
reducing the incidence and severity of work-related injuries.
IPCS is EEOC and
ADA compliant. All decisions regarding
the physical capability of a new hire or return of an injured
worker are based on data, which eliminates all subjectiveness
with testing.
PROpt
performs pre-employment
isokinetic testing of all major
muscle groups to each
job candidate and then these results are sent to IPCS to be
analyzed. Information that is gathered from each test is
evaluated and a statistical formula is generated. This
results in an objective rating that reflects the strength
capability of the worker in the context of the strength
requirement of the job. The employer can then compare the
potential employees’ scores to the standardized test scores of
others nationwide that performed the same type of job. These
results can then be used to match the physical capability of
the worker to the physical demands of the job
IPCS program
results:
·
Recent analysis for a
large food distributor showed a return investment of $35.00
saved for every $1.00 spent on IPCS testing. The return
on investment was realized by a substantial reduction in both
incidence and severity rates of injuries to knees, shoulders,
and backs.
·
Data presented at the
American College of Sports Medicine meeting in June of 2000
showed a 14 fold decrease in overexertion injuries to the
knees, shoulders, and back in a study of drivers and
dockworkers using IPCS testing.
INRTEK program
results:
·
Reduces workers
compensation cost by up to 65%.
·
Eliminates employee
injuries by 80% and keeps 95% of employees injury free.
·
INRTEK tested over 1900
applicants over a seven-month period for a major US airline
and resulted in an injury rate for the screened group of only
1.1 to 100 as compared to a historical incidence of 14 to 100.
In seven months the program had a net savings of $1 million in
claim costs alone. |
